The crew of the starship Flying Dutchman had just completed the Renegade mission, and the UN Expeditionary Force believed that Earth was secure for at least the next several centuries. However, this sense of safety was short-lived, as trouble arose on the home front, forcing the president to authorize a nuclear strike on an American city. Consequently, UNEF determined that they required the assistance of the Merry Band of Pirates once more.

Accordingly, the Flying Dutchman was dispatched on a routine reconnaissance mission. But for the pirates, no task is ever straightforward, and their mission would soon escalate into a full-blown Armageddon.
