A Game of Thrones

The acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones, a masterpiece that became a cultural phenomenon, is centered around the stark motto "Winter is coming." This stern phrase belongs to House Stark, the northernmost fiefdom that owes allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in distant King's Landing. In Winterfell, Eddard Stark rules in Robert's name, with his family dwelling in peace and comfort: his proud wife, Catelyn; his sons Robb, Brandon, and Rickon; his daughters Sansa and Arya; and his bastard son, Jon Snow.

Behind the towering Wall, far to the north, savage Wildings and unnatural entities, once relegated to myth, now prove all too real and deadly as the seasons turn. Yet, a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances. Across the Narrow Sea, Prince Viserys, heir of the fallen House Targaryen, which once ruled all of Westeros, schemes to reclaim the throne with an army of barbarian Dothraki, whose loyalty he will purchase with the only coin left to him: his beautiful yet innocent sister, Daenerys.

All are now heading for Winterfell, where a fateful encounter will change the course of kingdoms. The northernmost fiefdom, with its stern Stark motto, becomes the center of a brewing conflict, as the various factions converge, each with their own ambitions and agendas.
